A photographer locates a family of woodpeckers and narrates through his camera as he captures many of the moments lived by these likable birds. After several chicks are born, the photographer realizes that one of them hardly eats, sleeping most of the time. He eagerly tries to get the little bird to react. In the meanwhile, the book shows what is going on in the head of Pico Pic, the little woodpecker. Will he manage to survive? The author of this book, Juan Cruz Iguerabide, is a professor at the University of the Basque Country. He has translated several works of universal literature into Basque. As a writer, he has received the Euskadi Prize for Children’s and Young Adult’s Literature for his book Jonas and the Fearful Refrigerator, published in Basque by Editorial Aizkorri and in Spanish by Editorial Everest
