Young Thomas journeys to the abbey of Dirham, in Scotland, to investigate an autobiographical manuscript from the XIII century. The manuscript tells the life story of Robert C. Newton, his childhood at the abbey and his life in medieval Scotland. Shortly after he arrives in Scotland, however, strange things begin to happen, as if somebody had a particular interest in the manuscript. Might this manuscript hide some dark secret that would justify the strange events that surround it? An interesting trip around XII century Scotland, and the mysterious interest the manuscript holds, creates an intriguing story of initiation and intrigue that joins the past and the present.
